How to become a lawyer in Nigeria
The journey to become a lawyer in Nigeria is a long journey. You need to focus and you most work hard.
Before you become a Lawyer you must undergo five-year undergraduate programme in law from any Nigeria University that has an accredited Faculty of Law and obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB). And one-year programme of bar advocacy at any of the campuses of the Nigerian Law School (Bar part II) to obtain a qualifying certificate (BL).
To be qualified as a lawyer, the applicant must satisfy the Body of Benchers that he/she is of good character and produce a qualifying certificate to the Benchers.
Law as a course is one of the competative course in Nigeria and before you secure Admission to any institution to study law you must have the following criterias:
