BASIC NURSING
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS OF SCHOOL OF NURSING SOKOTO

The Nursing education programme is a six-
semester programme (3 years) of study. The
courses in the first year of the programme are
designated in four digits (representing level,
credit load, and semester for the last two digits respectively) with prefix of BGN (Basic General Nursing). The courses in the second and third years of study are designated as that of the first year with same prefix (BGN).
Candidate for admission into General Nursing
Education Programme of the Nursing and
Midwifery Council of Nigeria must possess the
following:
Senior secondary school Testimonial Computer print-out of S.S.C.E result with a minimum of five O’ level credits in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology at not more than 2 sittings in NECO and WAEC (combination of WAEC and NECO is acceptable).
Primary Leaving Certificate.
Declaration of Age or Birth Certificate.
L.G.A Indigenes Certificate (for Sokoto State Indigenes only).

REFRESHER PROGRAM

Refresher program is two-semester program
(1year) which commences in April each year. the program is initiated by Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria for eliminated candidate after three un-successful attempts in Professional Examination for General Nurses.
Candidate for admission into refresher Programme must possess the following:
Senior secondary school Testimonial Computer print-out of S.S.C.E result with a minimum of five O’ level credits in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology at not more than 2 sittings in NECO and WAEC (combination of WAEC and NECO is acceptable).
Primary Leaving Certificate.
Declaration of Age or Birth Certificate.
L.G.A Indigenes Certificate (for Sokoto State
Indigenes only) Index number, Academic transcript and
Covering letter from previous school of nursing attended Three (3) examination numbers for the three
sittings (including months and year of attempts
